I received this lovely banner for my drabble series, which I wrote for the recent challenge at romancingwizard. Squeee!

| Wow |
[Jun. 30th, 2008|11:03 pm] |

That's what I call a nice surprise. My fanfic Sense and Sensibility, which surprisingly is based on the book and film of the same title, is among the featured stories over at Chaos for the month July. I wrote it more than three years ago, and I didn't even know that someone still reads it. |

| A New Pairing |
[Jun. 10th, 2008|07:42 pm] |
I received a lovely banner for my latest fic, which was in response to romancingwizard's challenge "Bring Out Your Dead".

I (almost) paired off Snape with Trelawney, which was meant in a humourous way, and consequently several readers expressed their relief that Snape rejected Trelawney.
But it has made me think, and I now wonder whether it would be so impossible to actually pair off the two - for real, not for a laugh. I don't think they would become my new One True Pairing, if I've ever believed in something like that in the first place, but there must be ways to pull it off and make it believable. I might give it a try... |

| Reaching for the top |
[Feb. 4th, 2007|02:35 am] |
The way to the top is slow and long. But with tiny steps my career as a successful fanfic writer gathers speed. ;)
Well, at least, it's now for the first time that a story of mine is among the featured stories at an archive, The Petulant Poetess to be exact. :)
The story is called Two Dinners for Two. That's the rather horrible title I chose to archive my two SS/MM fics, which I originally posted here and here.
And I even got a banner to announce the fact. :) |

Fantastic news. My SS/HG drabble, which I wrote for the Holiday Drabbles and Drawbles Challenge at romancingwizard, won first place in the category 'passion'.

I took this opportunity to create an entry for my banners only. Should I ever receive another one for an icon I created or a story I wrote, it will go here. |

| Do you like drabbles? |
[Sep. 3rd, 2006|06:03 pm] |
As I mentioned before, romancingwizard held a drabble challenge last month. Now it's over and you can read all 100 drabbles - many of them are real gems - here. They range from Snape to Colin Creevey, from G to NC-17 and from funny to depressing.
I participated with three drabbles, which I already posted about here and here. For the one about Gilderoy Lockhart I received Honourable Mention in the category 'whimsy', which is absolutely fantastic.

| I won third place! |
[Jul. 31st, 2006|10:02 pm] |
For the past few months I've been taking part in the weekly icon competitions at rickman_stills, hoping to be among the best three. So far I had no luck, but I was rewarded Mod's Choice four times.
Now, the community held a wallpaper competition, and guess what? I won third place! It was the first wallpaper I ever made and I won.
Behind the cut are the banners I received for the wallpaper and for the fourth icon that won Mod's Choice.

Having taken part in the contest for a while now, I have started to wonder what people expect from an icon. When is an icon beautiful? Should it be funny, conventionally or unconventionally cropped, frilly or simple? Does it need text? |

| Prizeworthy icon |

I still take part in the weekly competitions at rickman_stills on a rather regular basis. Now I've been awarded Mod's Choice again. That's more than cool. Nevertheless I hope that one day I will make one of the first three places.
Here's the lovely banner I got this time round.

| I love getting banners |
[May. 14th, 2006|02:28 am] |
I really do. Only three weeks ago one of my icons for the weekly contest at rickman_stills won Mod's Choice. Now another one has been chosen.

I have to be careful now, else I might get conceited. |

For the past few weeks I've taken part in the weekly icon contest held by rickman_stills. Now I've won for the first time... Mod's Choice.
Here's the banner to prove it.
